Maxeler provides complete hardware solutions for maximum performance computing, from workstations to integrated rack systems. Maxeler MaxRack clusters integrate dataflow compute cards, custom 1U boxes and compute nodes with conventional CPU servers, networking and local storage. MaxRack systems increase processing speeds by a factor of 20-50x, dramatically reducing the cost of computing and creating exciting new opportunities. For the office environment, we provide compute racks with noise cancelling, high-performance workstations and portable maximum performance solutions.

This new level of performance comes at a fraction of the cost, power and space compared to using conventional computers. Maxeler dataflow computers bring a novel data-centric computing technology to the forefront of high performance computing. Where computation really matters, the Maxeler approach has the potential to make a significant difference.

MaxNode for High Density Compute

Image of MaxNode

The main compute element in MaxRack clusters is the MaxNode. A 1U MaxNode is a server-class system with 12 Intel Xeon CPU cores, up to 192GB of RAM for the CPUs and up to 4 MAX3 dataflow compute cards. Each MAX3 card supports the latest Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGAs directly connected to up to 48GB of DDR3 DRAM, giving a total of up to 192GB of FPGA DRAM per node. Each MaxNode typically provides the compute performance of 20-50 standard x86 servers. Cards within the same node are directly connected with high-bandwidth MaxRing interconnect, while the node supports optional Infiniband or 10GE interconnect for tight, cluster-level integration.

MaxNode10G Low-Latency Connectivity Platform

The Maxeler MaxNode10G Connectivity Platform is designed for ultra low latency line-rate processing of multiple 10Gbit data streams. The 1U node contains high speed interface adaptor cards connected to the MAX3 dataflow compute card, providing high-performance dataflow computation connected directly to electrical interfaces and network physical layer functionality for 10G Ethernet, Infiniband or Fibre Channel.

Image of left side rear of MaxNode10G The MaxNode10G contains up to two MAX3 cards with CH2 connectivity expansion cards in adjacent PCI Express slots, giving a total of 4 SFP/SFP+ ports and 2 CX4 ports supporting up to 6 high speed connections as well as additional inputs for operations such as time synchronization. The MAX3 cards provide the largest Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGAs, connected to fast DDR3 DRAM and a PCI Express connection to the host CPUs.

MaxWorkstation

The MaxWorkstation is a small form factor PC that brings the power of maximum performance solutions to the desktop. Small enough to fit on a desk, the MaxWorkstation provides a MAX3 dataflow compute card with Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA and 4 Intel CPU cores, with a combined processing power equivalent to dozens or hundreds of standard CPU cores.

The MaxWorkstation is ideal for software developers as well as users who desire a dedicated interactive compute resource on their desk.
