Maxeler Technologies CEO, Oskar Mencer, is giving a talk at IBM Research in Zurich about integrating Cloud computing with acceleration technology.

Maxeler hardware solutions, software tools and acceleration services open up an opportunity to accelerated heavily used hosted applications within Cloud computing mega-clusters. MaxelerOS, integrated within a standard Operating System such as Linux, provides the underlying technology to enable multiple accelerated application on a single hardware platform. By adding acceleration to a compute Cloud, multiple users can share the upfront costs while benefiting from low price/performance points of accelerated solutions.

For HPC in particular, numerical solutions to partial differential equations can be significantly improved while keeping costs down and reducing total latency.
